Almost every post i write comes with pictures. It does slow the loading time of this website but i feel pictures help you understand better.I use the good old way of pressing Print Screen button in the keyboard but then it has many problems like you have to paste it some photo editing software, & then alone can you crop it & save it.To solve these problems comes a small firefox addon called Screengrab.
Screengrab is a firefox addon that enables you to take Screen shots of what you are seeing inside firefox. After you install it, a small button comes up in the status bar of firefox.Click on it and a menu opens up giving you options for screen capture.Just two or three clicks & you capture the part of screen you want!!
With Screengrab you can capture the whole screen of just a part of it.To capture all that is seen inside firefox, just click on the Screengrab button & then select copy & then select visible portion. To just capture a frame or a page, then select complete page/frame.This is really helpful for capturing a full-size screen shot of a website rather than capturing multiple times & joining them together using image editing software like paint. Now if you want to capture just a portion, then select selection. Then you can select the portion you want using your mouse. Its as simple as that.

The best thing about this addon that i like is its ability to directly save the captured portion as a png or a jpeg file.Instead of taking a screen shot, then pasting it to an image editing program & then saving it as a file, you can directly save it!! To save a screen shot, click on Screengrab button on the status bar & then choose save & then click on your desired choice.

You can choose whether to save as png or jpeg by changing the settings in the options menu.If you have All-in-one Sidebar installed, then just click on add-ons button in it & then click on Screengrab. Then click on options. If you don’t have then go to tolls menu & then click on add-ons.In the Screengrab option menu you can choose whether to save of png or jpeg.

Its a great add-on for screen capturing but too bad you can use it only inside firefox(as it is a firefox add-on).
