EyeDefender - Protect your eyes from computer

Many of us use computer for hours everyday. Now computer has become an integral part of our life.But every good thing has a bad side & for computer its the number of problems that it causes to our body especially our eyes. Computer Vision Syndrome(CVS) is one such problem.

CVS can cause eyestrain, blurred vision, delayed focusing, headaches, back and neck aches, dry and burning eyes, light sensitivity, distorted color vision, forehead heaviness, and sore eyes.The best way to avid CVS is by taking short breaks every hour while using computer. The difficulty lies in scheduling a regular break and keeping to it. For this problem is EyeDefender.

EyeDefender is a free rest remainder software that reminds you at certain interval to take short breaks.After you download & install EyeDefender, it sits in the system tray idle but reminds you to take a break every 45 minutes by default.

There are four ways by which the program can remind you :

1.Displays a predefined picture - A predefined picture is shown in front of you with a bar showing the time left for break to finish.

2.Runs the visual training to relax the eyes - various symbols & figures are shown moving in different directions to relax our eyes.

3.Runs a default screensaver - The default screensaver in your computer is run.

4.Displays a popup timed reminder in the system tray - A small popup shows up near the system tray asking you to take a break.

Right-clicking on the EyeDefender icon on the system tray displays the options where you can set how long the break should take, how long must the interval between breaks be etc.

Clicking on the settings option, options the software’s settings where you can change the time taken between intervals & duration of break up to 999 minutes.You can also choose by what way you want the program to remind you about break.
